Oh what joy a humble pack of seeds provides

I pass by this house all the time on the way out of my neighborhood, and its little garden never stops making me smile. Surely all this took was a few packs of zinnia seeds and a watering can. It's a good reminder that gardening takes all kinds of shapes and doesn't have to be complicated or difficult. I tend to overextend myself, always digging new beds and planting things I shouldn't, then spending megabucks on premium mulch (Sweet Peat--gorgeous stuff! See? I'm obsessed...), and then not keeping up on the weeding and getting so frustrated by the end of August that I throw up my hands and let the heat and weeds win, hoping to make a new start in spring. How simply satisfying these little rows of blooms must be. I need to remember them come May....

Send in photos of your gardening joys. Jeff, Cherry, and De anne have, and we'll be seeing them in the next few days. Email me at michelle@gardenygoodness.com. Thanks!
